Dark berries | Leather | Cocoa

Big but sedate, a sleeping giant, a fat dummy napping. Not dumb, dull (maybe). Purple & flirting w/ Fuschia at the rim. Quite dark, impenetrable really. Sturdy lacings. Visual appeal is a solid 9.5 of 10 on a meaninglessly arbitrary scale of 10. Noses a tick mute, baron & bracingly cool. Minimalistic and starkly gorgeous, really. Faraway dark grains and supple leather push ahead dried red/purple fruits. A very particular aesthetic.

Sips smoky silkily. The feels sell this. An empty room, well-lit and plush-carpeted. You dream up the decor. Notes are subtle af, say. Adjustable. Distant beyond the body. Blackberry & blue. Cocoa, pepper. Blackcurrant. That leather & grain (pumpernickel). Dark earth. Sticky-syrupy but dry dry dry. Viscous. Feels. Broad across the tongue altho the tongue is firmed via tannins. Oak, seasoned.

Before I forget, pair w/ a meat lover's pizza. On a snowy night by a fireplace. Balanced, yes, but also in a wide & rather one-dimensional manner. Not very complex, quite nuanced. Finishes long of berries & spiced leather savoriness. How's this: impeccable restraint. Big notes muted & folded into a sumo of a bod. A way to experience them differently -- in theory, more than practice. Metaphorical.
